Shiny Gold Coins and Discordant Melodies

I am frequently privy
To colorful conversations
On snippets of luminance
Dripping down
From the stars

I am alone, but the room is spirited!
Nothingness speaks to me
In discordant melodies
And speechless symbols
Jangling like shiny gold coins
In pockets of brilliance

ยฉ๏ธ 2020 Sacred SoulSongs / MW ๐Ÿ™ Changed from gossamer [melodies] to discordant.

For Quadrille day at dVerse โ€œEavesdroppingโ€ with our host, Kim.

  1. Oh this is wonderful! I love the descriptive words you’ve used “snippets of luminance…..gossamer melodies…..Jangling like shiny gold coins in pockets of brilliance”
And oh yes….sometimes, most especially in the wee hours of the morning when it is still half dark, I can sit quietly and hear the voices of loved ones who live far away, and sometimes even those who are no longer with us on this earth….at least, I imagine thinking what they would be saying. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you, Lillian, for your beautiful comment! The wee hours when itโ€™s still half dark is a peak time. I see we are kindred spirits. ๐Ÿ’œโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

  2. So much is in this! You really leveraged each of the 44, for sure. Also it felt to me like there was repetition to reinforce, but then I went back and read again and there wasnโ€™t! Miraculous weiting

  3. An enchanting quadrille, MW! I love the idea of eavesdropping โ€˜On snippets of luminance / Dripping down / From the starsโ€™ โ€“ I must listen more closely to their silvery voices.

  4. Love it MW. Once in a long while I can come up with words like yours, but putting them together is usually beyond me now. There’s just something about getting old that robs the brain of its power of concentration and ability to function. Many hugs! ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ’–

  5. I took a dream course from leisure services a year or so ago and the first 6 weeks (once a week for 2 hours) was just on world symbology. It is like eavesdropping on a culture to learn what the symbols mean to them. Nice take on the prompt, Mother Wintermoon.

  6. How interesting to be the recipient of that solemn nothingness, that immese starlight gazing from the night sky.

No need to compare poems with other poets. We all have our unique perspective and words.

    • Thank you, Beverly!โค๏ธ I read some of other submissions and felt mine paled in comparison. I almost took it down. Wow. There is so much talent out there.๐Ÿ™

    • Yes… ๐Ÿ˜Š Theyโ€™re the best kind, if you watch out for the tricksters, enticing you with shiny objects. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for reading and commenting, Rob. ๐Ÿฆ‹
